Disappoinment and Expectations

If  Life had been very smooth for me, that was when  both of my sisters were at home either when my dad was around or after his death. After when I was  13 plus  everything was different , Both of my sisters were away.
My eldest sister was married off to  some one few km away from home, my second sister  started working in a  office which was an hour plus journey from my home, deep in a sugar cane Plantation away from home. I was left alone with my youngest sister who was only ten years old. my mum was sick and  unable to cook for us or to clean the house. that was the most difficult  moment in my life when I was help less. My three brothers  were at home but unable help around. They just help to collect the fire wood.

One  started working, two were still in Secondary School. Money was not a problem at that time because,  My sister and brother were supporting us. I  was not trained by my sisters earlier with the house work or to cook foo so  I learnt everything  through mistakes.
.
I was helpless and in misery. I  even begged my mm to help me, mum said she 's too weak to do the house work. So i did not have choice . I did everything by my self and at the same time, I was very playful.

My sister and  brother in law showed  concern. They suggested  one way of buying the provision  for the family and asked me  to list out things for two weeks and the shop man sent everything we ordered. So  That part was okay.
Even though I was helpless, I continued my likes such as meeting my class mates and reading the library books which I liked and  by visiting my friends. In the evenings twice a week my sister arranged tuition class for   me and my sister. when i don't attend tuition, I trained long distance run with my Classmate  and childhood  friend Mano.  we ran almost 4 km daily.

I waited for Saturday, because Saturday evening only my second sister will visit us after coming from office and we get tasty food only on Saturday/. Most of the Saturdays my sister cooked  'Canned tuna" or sardine curry, she used to add lot and lots of Aubergines  and potatoes and cooked in a big pot.

That night Curry we will keep the extra for the next mornings "Tosai"  and  for Lunch. Before she leaves on Monday early morning , the earlier evening she used to cook d hall curry with lots of potatoes and tomatoes in it!! So Saturday evening and Sunday , these are the only days we ate tasty food. i cooked but i did not learn  from my sisters about cooking, i only learn t stitching just by observing how they stitch shorts, skirts and blouses.
